After-School All-Stars

After-School All-Stars (ASAS) is an American non-profit organization that provides comprehensive after-school programs to children in 13 US cities.[1] Founded in 1991 by Daniel L. Hernandez of the Hollenbeck Youth Center; Hernandez asked then President of the President's Council of Physical Fitness and Sports Arnold Schwarzenegger to serve as Executive Commissioner.[2][3] Together they championed a national effort found through the Inner-City Games Foundation established in 1995 [4] The Inner-City Games Foundation(ICGF) changed its name to After-School All-Stars (ASAS) in 2002 to reflect comprehensive after-school programs.
